School of Economics and Resource Management
The School of Economics and Resource Management in Beijing Normal University was established on June 1, 2001. Orientating itself as a new type of think tank meeting national great demands, the School actively carries out interdisciplinary research based on economics, involving three fields: regional innovation and green development based on genuine progress indicator (GPI), poverty alleviation and shareable development, and emerging market and open development. So far, the School has founded 15 scientific research institutions home and aboard, including China office for the Green Industry Platform of United Nations Industrial Development Organization, China Institute of Innovation and Development, China Institute for Poverty Reduction, and Beijing Key Lab of Study on Sci-Tech Strategic for Urban Green Development.
Since its foundation, the School has undertaken and completed National Social Science Fund project, National Natural Science Fund project and nearly a hundred projects entrusted by ministries, provinces and cities. The School has had a number of academic achievements published at home and abroad, and successively won Sun Yefang Economic Science Award, China Soft Science Award and the first prize of Beijing Philosophy and Social Science. Up to 2018, the School has 57 faculty members and now admits doctoral candidates of theoretical economics and graduate students in applied economics and theoretical economics.
Bearing in mind the motto of Cultivating talents for the sake of the country, the School will inherit the profound tradition of the century-old prestigious school and carry forward the spirits of making study serve the practical purpose, and work untiringly to cultivate more talents and make greater achievements.
