School of Government at BNU was established in 2013. Its predecessor was the School of Administration set up in 2001. The school offers 4 undergraduate majors, including Public Administration, Human Resource Management, Information Management and Information System, and Management Science, six Master programs, including Administrative Management, Government Economy Management, Land Resource Management, Human Resource Management, Informatics, and Library Science, the program of Master of Public Administration (MPA), 4 doctoral programs, including Administrative Management, Government Economy Management, Land Resource Management, and Human Resource Management, and a rotating post-doctoral center of Public Administration. This is an interdisciplinary college of public administration and library information & archives administration.

The School of Government has a young, reasonably structured and dynamic faculty, with more than 95% of the faculty having doctorates, laying a solid foundation for multi-level, modern and internationalized talent training. Since 2013, the school has undertaken more than 200 national, provincial and ministerial research projects, published more than 40 SSCI/SCI papers, more than 500 CSSCI papers, and monographs, translations, compilations and textbooks more than 100 in total. Following the dual-wheel drive strategy to cultivate talents with a global vision as “going out and inviting in”, and conducting extensive and multi-level international cooperation and exchange activities, the school provides good internationalization conditions for teaching and research work and promotes the internationalization level of faculty members, talent cultivation as well as teaching and research.
