From May 8th to 14th, at the invitation of Beijing Normal University, teachers and students from Kyrgyzstan National Technical University, Issykhu State University, Osh State University, Narun State University and Batken State University came to Zhuhai for a 7-day cultural exchange activity. They also took part in the conference of the achievements of the International Young Designer Student Visiting Program, which was jointly initiated by the School of Future Design of Beijing Normal University and the Youth Design Thinking Innovation And Development Center.

On May 12, the School of Future Design of Beijing Normal University held a conference on the achievements of the International Young Designer Student Visiting Program in the Lecture Hall of Yuanbai Building Art Museum at Zhuhai Campus.

The conference on the achievements of the International Young Designer Student Visiting Program released more than 40 pieces of design work by teachers and students from China and Kyrgyzstan, including national gifts, nomadic lifestyle products and clothing design. Among them, national gifts and nomadic lifestyle products are based on Kyrgyzstan’s natural products and national diplomatic demands, with the goal of establishing Kyrgyzstan’s national brand and product system. Clothing design works are based on Kyrgyzstan’s traditional cultural elements for sustainable design, combining nomadic spirit and sports fashion for innovative technological re-engineering, in order to explore a variety of possibilities for future lifestyles.

Gift plates and honey gift boxes designed by teachers and students from the School of Future Design of Beijing Normal University will be sent to the Prime Minister's Office of Kyrgyzstan for diplomatic selections, or will be used as gifts in foreign affairs activities carried out by the head of state.

At the same time, a ceremony was held for the School of Future Design of Beijing Normal University to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) with five national universities in Kyrgyzstan and the Youth Design Thinking Innovation And Development Center, which will enable the three parties to carry out more in-depth cooperation in the areas of talent cultivation, curriculum sharing, teacher-student exchanges, joint research, and project cooperation.

International Young Designer Student Visiting Program (IYDSP) carried out cultural exchange activities between May 8th and 14th, when teachers and students from five state universities in Kyrgyzstan visited China. Teachers and students from Kyrgyzstan and the School of Future Design of Beijing Normal University visited the Zhuhai Study Abroad Cultural Centre, the Wuyong Hand Textile Study Hall, the Rossini Watch Museum, the Hong Kong-Zhuhai-Macao Bridge and other important cultural venues as well as industrial and engineering bases; they also travelled to Shenzhen to carry out two folklore workshops for the students of the Nanshan Affiliated School of Beijing Normal University, as well as to participate in the local paper-cutting art workshop.

Visiting students and teachers from Kyrgyzstan gave a workshop on the traditional handicraft “Kulak Blanket” to the students and teachers of the School of Future Design.

"The International Young Designer Student Visiting Program is co-sponsored by the School of Future Design of Beijing Normal University and the Youth Design Thinking Innovation And Development Center, with the support of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office of Beijing Normal University Zhuhai Campus. The project aims to build a platform for communication and cooperation between universities, create exchange opportunities for young designers, promote in-depth understanding and communication between different cultures, and disseminate excellent Chinese culture.
