Vice President Chen Xing Attends 30th Anniversary Celebration of the CNRS China Office
The 30th-anniversary celebration of the French National Centre for Scientific Research (CNRS) China Office officially commenced in Beijing on November 3rd. Vice President Chen Xing of Beijing Normal University (BNU) was invited to attend the opening ceremony and deliver a speech.
Chen Xing extended warm congratulations on the 30th anniversary of the CNRS China Office. He then briefly reviewed the cooperative projects carried out by BNU and the CNRS in various research fields and the fruitful achievements realized. He emphasized that BNU has always prioritized exchanges and cooperation with France. Looking ahead, BNU is committed to continuing its collaboration with the CNRS.

During the opening ceremony, keynote speeches were delivered by Wang Yifang, Academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences (CAS), and Christian Amatore, Academician of the CNRS and Visiting Professor at BNU. The ceremony was also attended by Antoine Petit (A. Petit), President of the CNRS, Bertrand Lortholary (B. Lortholary), French Ambassador to China, and nearly 40 researchers from the CNRS.
CNRS, established in 1939 and supervised by the French Ministry of Higher Education and Research, is the largest public research institution in Europe. To date, the organization has produced 13 Nobel Laureates and 11 Fields Medalists, making it recognized globally as one of the most innovative research institutions in the world.
