On July 26(GMT +8), the Chinese University Women's Basketball Team, which was mainly composed of players from Beijing Normal University, defeated the US team 81-69 in the women's basketball final and won the gold medal at the Rhine-Ruhr 2025 FISU World University Games.This is the second consecutive championship for the Chinese University Women's Basketball Team with the "Beijing Normal University strength" at its core, following their victory at the 2023 Chengdu Universiade. They overcame all obstacles in the knockout stage: they defeated Japan in the quarterfinals, reversed Poland in the semifinals after overtime, and finally beat the powerful US team in the final to achieve a back-to-back championship.

The coaching team is led by Li Sunan, the head coach of the women's basketball team of Beijing Normal University, with Zhao Xuetong serving as the assistant coach.
