The Philippines Regional Competition of the 8th Global Future Education Design Competition Was Held
The Philippines Regional Competition of the 8th Global Future Education Design Competition, jointly organized by Beijing Normal University (BNU) and Mariano Marcos State University (MMSU), was held from July 1st to 2nd. Dr. Virgilio Julius Paraoan Manzano, Jr., President of MMSU; Prof. Chen Guangju, Deputy Dean of Smart Learning Institute of Beijing Normal University; and Mr. Ren Faqiang, Consul and Head of Post of the Consulate of the People’s Republic of China in Laoag attended the opening ceremony and delivered speeches.
Mr. Ren Faqiang noted that this year marks the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between China and the Philippines. Over the past 50 years, exchanges and cooperation in various fields between the two countries have brought tangible benefits to the people of both countries. This competition not only continues a tradition of mutual learning, but also conforms to the trend of global educational transformation.
After a day and a half of competition, the Gold Award-winning team was produced among the 16 teams. In late July, the Gold Award-winning team will proceed to the Global Finals in Beijing.
The competition was co-organized by Beijing Normal University (BNU) and the UNESCO Institute for Information Technologies in Education (UNESCO IITE), attracting contestants from over 40 countries and regions around the world.
