A Delegation Led by University of Alberta's Vice-Provost Visited Beijing Normal University

On March 17, Tang Tian, Vice-Provost of the University of Alberta, led a delegation to Beijing Normal University (BNU). Chen Xing, Vice President of BNU, met with the guests.

Chen welcomed the delegation and briefed them on BNU’s recent development. He noted that BNU has continued to deepen practical exchanges and cooperation with international partners at multiple levels, across a wide range of fields, and through diverse forms. He also reviewed the achievements of past cooperation between the two universities. On that basis, he expressed the hope that both sides would explore new models for joint talent cultivation and advance cooperative education programs, thereby further promoting faculty and student exchanges as well as research collaboration.

Tang Tian thanked BNU for its warm reception and introduced the University of Alberta's major cooperation with Chinese universities. She said that the University of Alberta is willing to work with BNU to further deepen cooperation in psychology, education, and other fields, and to pursue more practical forms of collaboration.

Representatives from Faculty of Psychology and Office of International Exchange and Cooperation attended the meeting. During the meeting, the two sides held in-depth discussions on joint talent cultivation in psychology through multiple models and reached broad consensus.

The University of Alberta is a member of Canada's U15 Group of Research Universities, with its main campus located in Edmonton, the capital of Alberta. Over the years, it has maintained a strong and friendly partnership with BNU. The two universities have carried out close cooperation in psychology, education, philosophy, and other fields, and have successfully implemented a number of joint talent cultivation programs. In addition, the University of Alberta is one of the key host institutions for BNU students funded by the China Scholarship Council, including doctoral visiting students and undergraduate interns.
