The Delegation Led by the Vice President of the University of Toronto Visited Beijing Normal University

On the morning of December 4, Linda Johnston, Vice-President of the University of Toronto (Canada) and President of the University of Toronto Scarborough, along with a delegation of five, visited Beijing Normal University (BNU). Chen Xing, Vice-President of BNU, met with the guests.


Chen Xing extended a warm welcome to Johnston and the delegation, and introduced the disciplinary structure of BNU as well as the latest developments of its Beijing and Zhuhai campuses. He emphasized the BNU's commitment to fostering students' global vision, expressing anticipation for jointly launching diverse student development programs with the University of Toronto. Furthermore, he hoped that both sides would further expand cooperation across multiple disciplines building upon their existing collaboration.



Johnston expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended by BNU and provided an update on the development of the University of Toronto Scarborough. She stated her willingness to collaborate with BNU to advance cooperation, strengthen the bidirectional mobility of personnel and research collaboration, particularly in interdisciplinary fields.



Representatives from the School of Environment and the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation at BNU attended the meeting. Following a review of their recent environmental collaboration achievements, both sides conducted extensive exchanges on broadening future cooperation and arrived at a preliminary consensus.
