French sinologist Joël Bellassen Visited Beijing Normal University

On the morning of April 18, Joël Bellassen, a renowned French sinologist, visited Beijing Normal University (BNU). BNU Vice President Kang Zhen met with the guest.


Kang Zhen extended a warm welcome to Prof. Joël Bellassen's visit and highly praised his outstanding contributions in the fields of Sinology research and Sino-French cultural exchanges, especially in promoting the popularization of Chinese language education in France and facilitating the communication of Chinese character culture. Kang Zhen hoped that Prof. Joël Bellassen could continue to deepen cultural exchanges and mutual learning between China and France, especially in implementing substantive cooperation between the Paris Chinese Character Festival Association (Fête des caractères chinois), National Institute for Oriental Languages and Civilizations (Paris) and relevant disciplines of BNU.


Joël Bellassen expressed his gratitude to BNU for the warm reception and introduced the development of the Chinese Character Festival in Paris and its influence in France. He looked forward to taking the festival as a platform to cooperate with BNU in aspects such as event planning and academic discussions, and expressed his willingness to actively promote exchanges and cooperation between BNU and the French sinology community.


Feng Liping, the dean of the School of International Chinese Language Education, Xiao Kai, the vice dean of the Institute of Chinese Culture | Jingshi Academy, and relevant officials from the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation attended the meeting.
