On September 22, a delegation led by Monthon Parksuwan, Secretary-General of the Office of the Private Education Commission (OPEC) of the Ministry of Education of Thailand, visited Beijing Normal University (BNU). Chen Xing, Vice President of BNU, met with the guests in the Main Building.

Chen Xing welcomed Monthon and his delegation. He reviewed BNU's long-standing tradition of educational cooperation with Thailand and noted that Her Royal Highness Princess Maha Chakri Sirindhorn's two visits to BNU had laid a solid foundation for China–Thailand educational exchanges and cooperation. BNU has already established practical cooperation projects with Thailand in fields such as international Chinese language education and teacher training. He expressed the expectation that the two sides would continue to deepen cooperation across various fields and contribute to China–Thailand educational and people-to-people exchanges.

Monthon thanked BNU for its warm reception. He introduced the current situation and practical needs of Chinese language education in Thailand and expressed that the Ministry of Education of Thailand was willing to draw on BNU's educational strengths and resources, expand the scope of cooperation, and jointly promote the quality improvement and upgrading of Chinese language education in Thailand.

At the meeting, the two sides signed a university-level Memorandum of Understanding. The Chairman of the Thai–Chinese Private Schools Association, the Chairman of the Thai Chinese Teachers' Association, and principals from several Thai primary and secondary schools attended the meeting. Relevant heads from the School of International Chinese Language Education, the Institute of Global Teacher Development, the School of Artificial Intelligence, the UNESCO International Research and Training Centre for Rural Education (UNESCO INRULED), and the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation attended the meeting and delivered remarks.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the Training College and the Online Education Resources Center of the Faculty of Education.

The Office of the Private Education Commission (OPEC) of Thailand's Ministry of Education is one of the three education commissions under the Ministry. It is responsible for managing and supervising educational affairs of private schools at all levels in Thailand. It is also responsible for cultivating and training local Chinese language teachers in Thailand, participating in the formulation of professional standards for Chinese language teaching in Thailand, and participating in and supporting the development of Chinese language teaching syllabi and localized Chinese teaching materials.
