On September 21, a delegation of young Russian student leaders visited Beijing Normal University(BNU). Chen Xing, Vice President of BNU, met with the delegation. Teng Jun, Director of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, attended the meeting.

Chen Xing extended a warm welcome to the delegation and briefed the guests on BNU's history and its disciplinary development. He noted that BNU has long attached great importance to educational exchanges with Russia and led the establishment of the “Sino-Russian University Education Alliance Bilateral Council and Academic Symposium”, which has created an important platform for cooperation. He welcomed outstanding young Russian students to study at BNU and called for more institutionalized channels for youth dialogue, so as to promote mutual learning between the young people of the two countries, deepen their friendship through activities and hands-on experience, and inject youthful momentum into the China-Russia comprehensive strategic partnership of coordination for a new era.

Anna Plakhova, a representative of the Federal Agency for Youth Affairs of the Russian Federation (Rosmolodezh), and Egor Gavrilov, a representative of the Young Guard of United Russia, then delivered remarks. They thanked BNU for its warm hospitality and expressed Russian young people's eagerness to see China's long history and contemporary society and culture up close. They also voiced the hope that more bilateral exchange programs will deepen mutual understanding and friendship between the young people of the two countries.

At the meeting, Xu Yimeng and Liu Yiting, student representatives of BNU, respectively gave presentations on the work of the Students' Union and on the volunteer service program.

Ai Xi and Wang Yuxuan, undergraduates from the Department of Russian, performed classic Russian songs on site, showcasing the the academic strengths and well-rounded abilities of BNU foreign language students as well as the unique appeal of Chinese-Russian cultural integration.

After the meeting, the delegation visited BNU Digital Education Resources Center and Geological Specimen Museum.
