On June 6, Olga Y. Vasilyeva, the president of Federal State Budgetary Institution of Russian Academy of Education, and Viktor S. Basyuk, the vice president, visited Beijing Normal University (BNU). BNU President Yu Jihong met with the delegation, and Vice President Chen Xing presided over the meeting.

Yu Jihong welcomed the delegation's visit. She introduced the situation of BNU in terms of discipline development and talent cultivation, reviewed the academic cooperation and cultural exchanges carried out with Russian universities in recent years, and particularly introduced the development of the China-Russia Education University Alliance. She pointed out that educational exchanges and cooperation between China and Russia have been continuously deepened. BNU hopes to enhance personnel exchanges with Federal State Budgetary Institution Russian Academy of Education, strengthen the consensus on cooperation, and contribute educational strength to the friendly relations between the two countries.

Vasilyeva thanked BNU for its warm reception. She elaborated on the history and current development status of Federal State Budgetary Institution Russian Academy of Education, and expressed the hope that both sides would establish practical cooperation in disciplines such as education and psychology, jointly focus on topics such as digital transformation and inclusive education, and promote the educational cooperation between the two countries to a new level.

After the talks, the two sides jointly signed a memorandum of inter-school cooperation.

Representatives from the Faculty of Education, the School of Psychology, the School of Foreign Languages and Literature, and the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation attended the meeting and had in-depth exchanges of views with the Russian side on future cooperation.

After the meeting, the delegation visited the Artificial Intelligence Education Laboratory of the Faculty of Education.
