Yu Jihong Participated in China-Africa-UNESCO High-Level Dialogue on Cooperation in Education and Cultural Heritage Protection and Delivers Keynote Speech
On September 6th, the China-Africa-UNESCO High-Level Dialogue on Cooperation in Education and Cultural Heritage Protection (hereinafter referred to as "the Conference") opened in Beijing. The event brought together government officials from China and African countries, leaders from universities and vocational schools, experts, scholars, and representatives from international organizations.
Sustainable Development Goals and ensuring a more prosperous future for all humanity require high-quality education and well-trained teachers. Beijing Normal University has always embraced the mission of "strengthening education to build a stronger nation, and strengthening teachers to improve education." The university strives to develop an innovative system for cultivating top-tier teachers, initiated the "Strong Teachers Project," and actively implemented the Digital Education Strategy Demonstration Project and the "Internet+Education" Reform and Innovation Action Plan. These initiatives aim to cultivate excellent teachers for the nation and promote high-quality development in basic education. The university is also actively involved in promoting and contributing to the Global University Social Responsibility Community, particularly by supporting Africa's educational development through talent cultivation, research collaboration, and cultural exchanges. Yu Jihong stated that Beijing Normal University will work together with educators from Africa and around the world to contribute new efforts towards building a high-level China-Africa community with a shared future and promoting the development of the "Global South."
During the results release session, the "China-Africa Teacher Education Center," initiated by Beijing Normal University, was highlighted as a significant achievement of the Dialogue. Yu Jihong unveiled the plaque for the center.
The China-Africa-UNESCO High-Level Dialogue on Cooperation in Education and Cultural Heritage Protection was jointly organized by the Chinese government and UNESCO. With the theme "Joint Efforts to Promote Africa's Educational Development and Cultural Heritage Protection," the dialogue focused on sharing experiences and exploring cooperation between China, UNESCO, and African countries in the fields of education and cultural heritage protection.
