Beijing Normal University Held a Friendly Exchange Activity for Chinese and Japanese College Students
On the morning of May 29, a delegation of over 100 Japanese university students visited Beijing Normal University (BNU) for an exchange event. The relevant teachers from the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, the School of Foreign Languages and Literature, the School of International Chinese Language Education, and the School of Arts and Communication participated in the activity.
Professor Miao Xingwei, Dean of the School of Foreign Languages and Literature, extended a warm welcome to the delegation. He emphasized the important role of youth exchange in advancing China-Japan relations, and expressed hope that this event would further strengthen friendship and cooperation between young people of both nations, contributing jointly to the friendship between China and Japan.
Professor Takakubo Yutaka, from the Faculty of Commerce, Nihon University, expressed sincere gratitude to BNU for the warm reception. He noted that Japanese youth have a strong interest in Chinese culture, and this event provided a valuable opportunity for Japanese students to gain deeper insights into Chinese culture and education. He expressed hope for more exchanges between young people of the two countries in the future.
Following the welcome ceremony, Chinese students from the School of Foreign Languages and Literature at BNU engaged in exchange activities with the Japanese university students. They had a pleasant and relaxed chat about their studies and lives, and shared their cultural experiences. Through taking group photos and exchanging souvenirs, they fully demonstrated the friendship among young people that transcends national boundaries.The teachers from the School of International Chinese Language Education and the School of Arts and Communication organized hands-on cultural workshops for the delegation, including lacquer fan making and Chinese calligraphy. The students participated with great enthusiasm, enjoying the charm of traditional Chinese culture.
The delegation included representatives from 49 universities across Japan, including the University of Tokyo, Kyoto University, Waseda University, and the University of Tsukuba. This activity not only brought young people from both countries closer together, but also deepened mutual friendship and understanding, playing a positive role in advancing cultural exchange and mutual learning between the two civilizations.
