Yu Gang Attended the Stockholm Convention (COP-12) and Delivered a Report at the Side Event

From April 28 to May 9, Basel Convention (COP-17), Rotterdam Convention (COP-12) and Stockholm Convention (COP-12) were held in Geneva, Switzerland. More than 1,700 representatives attended the meeting. Yu Gang, the director of the Advanced Interdisciplinary Institute of Environment and Ecology at Beijing Normal University, attended the Stockholm Convention (COP-12) as a member of the Chinese government delegation.



During the conference, the Chinese delegation hosted the side event titled "Addressing Emerging Contaminants for A Beautiful and Healthy World", fully expressing China's willingness to jointly build a clean and beautiful world with the international community.



Yu Gang delivered a report at the side event, outlining China's research journey in the field of control of emerging contaminants such as persistent organic contaminants, environmental endocrine disruptors, drugs and personal care products, and micro-plastics. He also introduced the science and technology progress in monitoring and screening, risk assessment, and alternative control of emerging contaminants, as well as the challenges and future tasks.
