On the morning of November 18, the 6th China Education Innovation Expo opened in Zhuhai International Convention and Exhibition Center in Guangdong Province. With the theme of “Together, Sharing & Innovation - High-quality Development of Education”, the expo was sponsored by Beijing Normal University, guided academically by the Chinese Society of Education, and organized Jointly by the Guangdong Committee of China Democratic League and the Zhuhai Education Bureau.

The expo was initiated by Beijing Normal University in 2015. Since 2018, it has been successfully held for five sessions in Zhuhai, Guangdong Province, and has become an important platform to comprehensively serve the national strategies and promote the high-quality development of education, a gathering place for educational innovations, a big classroom for teacher education, and an accelerator for cross-border exchange and collision of ideas.

On the theme report session of the opening ceremony, Wang Guangqian, the Vice Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee, the Executive Vice Chairman of the Central Committee of the Democratic League and the academician of the Chinese Academy of Sciences, delivered a theme report on “Labor Education in the New Era”; Zheng Quanshui, the Academician of Chinese Academy of Sciences, a professor of Tsinghua University and the Founding President of Shenzhen “01” College, delivered a theme report on “Thinking and Practices on the Essence of Innovative Education”; Mo Yan, a Nobel Prize winner and a professor of Beijing Normal University, delivered a theme report on “Literature Education and Youth`s Writing”.

On the special dialogue session on the theme of “Promoting the Spirit of Educators: The Revitalization and Expectation of Rural Education”, the dialogue was made by Dong Yan, the most beautiful teacher of 2023, and a teacher of Huhu Town Central School in Huoqiu County, Lu 'an City, Anhui Province, Gu Ya, the most beautiful teacher of 2023 and a teacher of Haigua Primary School in Dawan Town, Zhongshan District, Liupanshui City, Guizhou Province, and Li Ruoyu, one of the authors of the letter to the General Secretary Xi Jinping as normal school students under “Targeted teacher training plan” and a student from Leyu College, Zhuhai Campus of Beijing Normal University.

It was reported that the expo would last for 3.5 days and focus on six major aspects of “Education Quality & Balance, Education Governance Modernization, New Curriculum Reform, Teacher Team Construction in the New Era, Education Digitalization and Education Quality Evaluation”. Over 100 theme forums and brand events would be held in forms of exhibition, conference or/and forum, over 1,100 workshops and 5 large exhibition halls would be set up. to show over 2,200 outstanding educational innovation achievements at home and abroad; in addition, some special theme exhibition areas would be also set up, such as those in SERVE Award achievements, science education, family education, program learning, future design, future media and digital literacy, and other fields.

The expo will focus on creating characteristic brand forums, and cultivating the first batch of sub-brand forums under the big IP of the expo to further play the demonstration and leading effect and expand the social influence. During the conference, many high-end forums will be held, such as Teacher Empower Forum, China School Leaders Forum, “Program-oriented Learning for Core Literacies” series forums, the BNU Science Education Conference, Innovation Forum on Family-School-Society Collaborative Education Mechanism, Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area Regional Basic Education High-Quality Innovation and Development Forum, Basic Education Evaluation Reform and High-quality Development Forum, etc. to actively respond to key and difficult problems in the education field.
