On July 2, a delegation led by Rudolf Allemann, the Vice-Chancellor of Cardiff University in the UK, visited Beijing Normal University (BNU). Wei Wei, Vice Chairman of the University Council, met with the guests at Zhuhai campus.

Wei Wei expressed her warm welcome to the delegation from Cardiff University. She pointed out that the school attaches great importance to the strategic partnership with Cardiff University. The two schools have established a solid foundation of mutual trust through long-term cooperation and achieved fruitful cooperation results, which has laid a solid foundation for more in-depth cooperation between the two sides. Wei Wei introduced the location advantages and development priorities of the Zhuhai campus to the guests. She emphasized the need to accelerate the construction of the joint college and jointly create a new situation of the cooperation.

Rudolf Allemann sincerely thanked BNU for its warm reception. He highly praised the effectiveness of the cooperation between the two schools, saying that the strategic partnership between the two sides is demonstrating strong development vitality. He said that BNU' s outstanding achievements in discipline construction and development are remarkable, and he looks forward to further enhancing the level of cooperation between the two sides, exploring multiple channels, and achieving mutual benefit and win-win results.

Both sides discussed and exchanged views on the preparations for jointly building the college, the signing of the cooperation agreement and the setting of majors, and clarified the work plan for the next step.

During the visit, the Cardiff delegation also conducted on-site visits to the Science and Technology Complex Building, the Center for Water Research, the biological laboratories and the teachers' apartments at the Zhuhai campus.
