Beijing Normal University Holds Opening Ceremony for Grade 2025 Students
On September 15 and 17, Beijing Normal University(BNU) held the opening ceremonies for grade 2025 students at Beijing and Zhuhai campuses. Senior university leaders attended both events, joined by incoming students of the Class of 2025 and some of their parents.
President Yu Jihong delivered a speech at the ceremony. She noted that over the 123 years since BNU's founding, generations of BNUers have advanced in step with the times. Looking ahead, BNU will continue to provide a broad stage for the all-round development of every student.
At both campuses, faculty representatives delivered speeches.
Professor Liu Juan from the School of Foreign Languages and Literature encouraged students to cherish their time, cultivate future-oriented skills, and thrive academically at BNU.
Gao Peng, Dean of the Future Design School, drew on his own experiences to share his understanding of BNU’s motto. He emphasized embracing change, pursuing innovation, and engaging deeply in practice.
Representatives of current students and the freshmen also delivered speeches at the ceremonies. They expressed their commitment to carrying forward the spirit of BNU, striving for excellence throughout their academic journey, and giving back to society.
The ceremony was broadcast live through major Chinese media platforms such as People’s Daily, Xinhua Net, and BNU’s official Weibo, WeChat Video Channel, Douyin, Kuaishou, and Bilibili accounts. Simultaneous bilingual live streaming was also available on international platforms, including BNU’s Facebook, and Instagram. It has received high attention from teachers, students, their relatives and friends as well as the general public.
