Beijing Normal University Held the Sixth Global Young Scholars Forum
On the morning of December 23, the main forum of the Sixth Global Young Scholars Forum of Beijing Normal University was held at the Yingdong Academic Hall with online meetings. President Yu Jihong of Beijing Normal University attended the forum and delivered a speech. Sun Hongpei and Wang Ming, members of the Standing Committee of the University Party Committee and vice presidents of BNU, presented keynote reports. The forum attracted over 1,000 registered participants and garnered more than 20,000 online views.
President Yu Jihong extended a warm welcome to the young scholars attending the forum on behalf of BNU. She highlighted that universities serve as natural hubs for education, science, and talent, playing a critical role in advancing these fields in an integrated manner. Universities are entrusted with the vital missions of driving educational progress, fostering scientific innovation, and cultivating talents. Yu emphasized that Beijing Normal University is actively implementing its "Strengthening the University through Talent" strategy in the new era. She noted that the university is currently in a strategic period of reform and development, presenting significant opportunities for young talents. She encouraged participants to use this forum as a platform for exchanging ideas and sparking innovation, joining hands with BNU to embark on a new journey and create a brighter future together.
Wang Ming introduced the university's long-standing history and current development, highlighting its remarkable achievements in areas such as academic disciplines, talent cultivation, scientific research, and international collaboration. He expressed that the school attaches great importance to the development of young talents and has established a comprehensive system for talent recruitment, cultivation, and incentive mechanisms. Wang expressed his eager anticipation for young scholars to join Beijing Normal University and contribute to the flourishing development of education.
Sun Hongpei provided a comprehensive overview of the development of the Zhuhai campus, including its guiding principles, academic disciplines, and teaching and research facilities. He also elaborated on the talent development initiatives at the Zhuhai campus. Sun extended a heartfelt invitation to talents from around the world to join Beijing Normal University’s Zhuhai campus and make it their home.

Song Huan, Deputy Dean of the Faculty of Education, and Ouyang Wei, Deputy Director of the Advanced Interdisciplinary Institute of Environment and Ecology, delivered speeches as representatives of departments. They detailed the achievements in talent cultivation, scientific research, team building, and international collaboration within their departments. They also highlighted the multi-faceted support policies available for young talents and extended a sincere invitation for them to join.
Jiang Ying from the College of Chemistry and Wang Zheng from the Bay Area International Business School spoke as representatives of young talents. Drawing from their own study and work experiences, they shared insights on the development platforms and comprehensive support services provided by the university and their colleges for young talents. They expressed their hope to collaborate with fellow young scholars at BNU to realize the value of education together.
Liu Yang, Deputy Director of the Office of Talent and Human Resources, and Zhang Xing, Director of the Talent and Human Resources Office at the Zhuhai campus, provided a detailed explanation of the university’s talent and human resources policies. Liu Yang introduced the job system, support policies, and evaluation models at the Beijing campus, while Zhang Xing elaborated on the principles guiding talent work at the Zhuhai campus, the job levels and system, as well as the development support provided by the university, the province, and the city.
Following the main forum, various departments will host a total of 41 sub-forums, inviting outstanding young scholars to participate in academic presentations, discussion sessions, and other activities.The Global Young Scholars Forum, now in its sixth year, has become a key initiative for Beijing Normal University to implement its "Strengthening the University through Talent" strategy and attract outstanding talents from around the world. It serves as an important window for young scholars to learn about BNU and as a vital platform for exchanging ideas and engaging in academic communication.
