Chen Xing Led a Delegation to Visit University of Bath
From July 20 to 24, as part of ongoing efforts to advance the strategic cooperation plan between Beijing Normal University (BNU) and the University of Bath, and to build on the outcomes of previous high-level exchanges between the two institutions, BNU Vice President Chen Xing led a delegation to visit the University of Bath. The visit focused on the long-term development and strategic cooperation between the two universities. Through in depth face to face discussions, both sides narrowed their cooperative distance, consolidated consensus, and effectively advanced practical cooperation across multiple levels and fields between BNU and its high level overseas partner institutions.
During the visit, the delegation was warmly received and welcomed by Vice President Manuel Barcia and his team. The two sides held several formal meetings, engaging in extensive discussions on core topics including consolidating the existing cooperation foundation, aligning joint student training programs, building interdisciplinary research platforms, and establishing joint research funds. Multiple important consensuses were reached.
To gain a comprehensive understanding of the host institution’s operations, the delegation toured key laboratories, training centers, campus cultural venues, and student activity areas at the University of Bath, learning about its models and experiences in talent cultivation, faculty development, research innovation, and internationalized management.
In addition, in line with BNU’s international development strategy, the delegation held specialized exchanges with relevant faculties and departments, precisely aligning disciplinary development and educational cooperation needs. Both sides shared quality educational resources and development philosophies, and engaged in full communication on curriculum quality assurance, student experience, and teaching methodologies, effectively promoting deeper integration of cooperation between the two universities.
This visit represents an important step for BNU in proactively engaging with overseas partner institutions, continuously deepening Sino‑foreign educational exchanges and integration, and concretely implementing its internationalization strategy. Going forward, the two universities will further combine their respective strengths and development needs to establish long‑term communication and cooperation mechanisms, and actively work to turn the various cooperative consensuses reached during the visit into tangible outcomes.
