UNESCO International Research and Training Centre for Rural Education Convenes its 2025 Governing Council Meeting

On December 2, the 2025 Council meeting of the UNESCO International Research and Training Centre for Rural Education(UNESCO INRULED) was held at Beijing Normal University (BNU). Ren Youqun, Vice Minister of Education Faculty of China and Director of the China National Commission for UNESCO, chaired the meeting as the Council Chair.



The meeting reviewed and approved the 2025 work report of UNESCO INRULED, fully recognizing its achievements, and approved the 2026 annual work plan and budget. 


The meeting underscored that UNESCO INRULED should leverage its strengths to align with China's major development strategies and UNESCO's new initiatives, proactively adapt to evolving demands, strengthen team development, and drive continuous innovation to make greater contributions to rural education reform in developing countries. The Council meeting charted the course for the INRULED's new year, providing robust support for enhancing project quality, expanding global visibility, and deepening international partnerships.


Before the meeting, Ren Youqun and Cheng Jianping, Chairman of the University Council, exchanged views on the development of UNESCO INRULED and BNU's internationalization efforts.
