Professor Wu Jing from the School of Physics and Astronomy Has Been Awarded the 2026 SNMMI Tracy Lynn Faber Award

The 2026 annual meeting of the Society of Nuclear Medicine and Molecular Imaging (SNMMI) was held in Los Angeles, USA, from May 30 to June 2. Professor Jing Wu from the School of Physics and Astronomy was awarded the 2026 Tracy Lynn Faber Award for her significant contributions to quantitative SPECT and PET imaging.

The SNMMI Annual Conference is the premier academic event in the global fields of nuclear medicine, medical imaging, and molecular imaging. The Tracy Lynn Faber Award recognizes female scientists who have made significant contributions to medical imaging science or professionals who have substantially advanced the advancement of women in this field. The award is presented annually, with all previous recipients hailing from internationally renowned universities and research institutions.

At the award ceremony, Yale University Professor Chi Liu highlighted Wu Jing's academic contributions in the field of medical imaging. Subsequently, Wu Jing delivered an online invited lecture titled "Quantitative PET/SPECT Imaging and Applications," presenting her latest research advancements in quantitative PET/SPECT imaging and related applications to the attending scholars. These included dynamic quantitative imaging and pharmacokinetic modeling studies for cardiac and oncological applications, as well as quantitative image reconstruction in nuclear medicine and rapid, precise voxel-level dose calculation for integrated diagnostic and therapeutic applications.

Wu Jing has long been engaged in research on quantitative imaging algorithms and their applications in nuclear medicine. In 2019, she was nominated for the Young Scholar Award by the SNMMI Physics, Instrumentation and Data Sciences Council (PIDSC), and in 2022, she was selected as one of SNMMI's "Ones to Watch" researchers.
