Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Melbourne Visited BNU Zhuhai for Cooperation Talks

On June 2, Professor Marek Tesar, Dean of the Faculty of Education at the University of Melbourne, led a delegation to visit Beijing Normal University at Zhuhai (BNU Zhuhai). Li Xin, Deputy Director of the Zhuhai Campus Administrative Committee and Provost of BNU Zhuhai, met with the delegation. The two sides held in-depth discussions on cooperation in the field of education, with a particular focus on joint cultivation at the master's level, credit transfer system, and dual-degree initiatives. 



Representatives from the Faculty of Education, the College of Education for the Future and the Offices of International Exchange and Cooperation of both BNU and BNU Zhuhai attended the meeting.


Li Xin warmly welcomed Professor Tesar and his colleagues. She introduced BNU's efforts to align with the national strategy for the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macao Greater Bay Area and highlighted the university's commitment to building a pioneering demonstration zone for educational innovation by leveraging the Zhuhai Campus's strategic location and abundant resources.


Professor Tesar provided an overview of the Faculty of Education, including its history, academic strengths, and program structure. He expressed a strong interest in expanding cooperation with BNU and exploring new opportunities for collaboration in education and teacher development.



During the meeting, both sides explored potential pathways for educational cooperation, particularly in master's-level joint training programs, credit transfer system, and dual-degree opportunities. The discussions reflected a high degree of mutual recognition regarding each institution's academic strengths and educational philosophy, leading to a preliminary consensus on future collaboration.


Moving forward, the two universities will maintain close communication, further refine cooperation plans, and steadily advance substantive and large-scale collaborative initiatives. Through these efforts, both institutions aim to promote the sharing of high-quality educational resources and achieve complementary development.
