BNU Student Du Siyu and Teammates Win Women's Team Gold at 54th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships
In the women's team final of the 54th Artistic Gymnastics World Championships held in Rotterdam, the Netherlands, the Chinese women's gymnastics team ended the United States' seven-consecutive-title run in the event, claiming gold with a total score of 165.764. It marked China's return to the top of the World Championships podium for the first time in 20 years, and the team also secured a berth in the women's team event at the 2028 Los Angeles Olympic Games.
Du Siyu, a 2025 master's student at the College of P.E. and Sports of Beijing Normal University (BNU) and a core member of China's championship squad, returned to international competition after recovering from injury and contributed BNU's strength to the hard-earned gold medal.

The women's team final used the 5-3-3 format and comprised four apparatus: vault, uneven bars, balance beam, and floor exercise. Du competed for China on vault and uneven bars, scoring 14.100 on vault and 14.300 on uneven bars, both the highest scores on those apparatus for the Chinese team in the final. Vault has long been a traditional weak point for Chinese women's gymnastics; among the three Chinese gymnasts who competed on vault in the final, Du was the only one to consistently break the 14-point mark.

China's first women's team title at the World Championships in 20 years was built on the dedication and hard work of every squad member. At 24, Du Siyu reached the top podium of the World Championships. She is also an athlete who returned to the national team after retirement and went on to win team gold medals successively at the Asian Championships, Asian Games and World Championships, writing a moving chapter of resilience, breakthrough and rebirth through her hard work and perseverance.
