On Feb. 26, Zhang Linyan, an undergraduate from the School of P.E. and Sports of BNU, was named the 2023 Chinese Women’s Footballer of the Year at the Best Chinese Football Awards 2023 ceremony in Shanghai, becoming the second BNUer who win the honor after Wang Shuang.

The Award aims to recognize Chinese women's football players who have performed outstandingly in the past year. The selection criteria for this award include players' skills, game performance, contribution to the team, and social influence. The winners of this award are all leading players in the field of women's football.

In the past year, Zhang Linyan participated in many international competitions with the Chinese women's football team and achieved impressive honors in both the national team and her club.
