Beijing Normal University Women's Football Team Wins Bronze Medal at 2025 FISU University World Cup Football

On September 27, in the women's third-place playoff of the FISU University World Cup Football in Dalian, the Beijing Normal University(BNU) women's Football team clinched the bronze medal. Despite facing the challenge of having eight key players absent due to scheduling conflicts with the Women’s Super League, the team demonstrated remarkable determination and outstanding skills, ultimately securing a place on the podium.


Group Stage Match


On September 18, during the group stage of the FISU University World Cup Football, BNU faced Laval University from Canada. In the 63rd minute, BNU's No. 24 player, Ma Yulin, opened the scoring with a decisive goal, putting her team ahead 10. However, in the 87th minute, the team was unable to withstand the opponent's final surge, and the match ended in a 11 draw.

On the evening of September 19, the BNU women's team claimed its first group-stage victory, defeating the Polytechnic University of Hauts-de-France (France) 2–0. Goals were scored by Zhou Xinyu and Ma Yulin.



In the third round of the group stage on September 21, the game ended in a 11 draw against the University of Sydney (Australia). With a record of one win and two draws in the group stage, BNU successfully advanced to the semifinals.

Semifinal Stage


In the semifinals, BNU faced a strong team from Shanghai University of Sport. They ultimately fell to a 0–2 defeat. Although the result was disappointing, the team’s performance and indomitable spirit earned widespread respect and recognition.



Third-Place Playoff


After the setback in the semifinals, the BNU women's team quickly regrouped and adjusted their mindset as they faced the challenge from the University of the Extreme South of Santa Catarina (Brazil). In the end, they secured a 1–0 victory and earned the bronze medal.



This World Cup journey was more than just a series of matches. It was an experience of growth and resilience. Their remarkable performance has not only brought honor to BNU but also infused new confidence and momentum into the future development of campus sports.
