Geography and Sustainability & Journal of Geoheritage and Parks were selected into Scopus database

On November 20th, 2020, according to the evaluation of the Scopus Content Selection and Advisory Board (CSAB), Geography and Sustainability and Journal of Geoheritage and Parks, two academic journals that are sponsored by BNU, were selected into Scopus database.

Scopus database is the largest abstract and citation database in the world, covering peer-reviewed research literature in technology, medicine and social sciences. It provides intelligent tools for tracking, analyzing and visualizing research results, and is widely recognized by global scholars.

The fact that Geography and Sustainability and Journal of Geoheritage and Parks were accepted by Scopus database indicated that they have achieved international recognition in terms of academic level, standardization of journal publication, etc. And it was only 8 months after the publication of Geography and Sustainability that the journal was accepted by Scopus.


Geography and Sustainability is an international English academic journal sponsored by Beijing Normal University and jointly published by Beijing Normal University Press (Group) Co., Ltd. and Elsevier Publishing Group, which is also the Journal of IGU Commission on Geography for Future Earth. Fu Bojie, head of the Faculty of Geographical Science of Beijing Normal University and vice president of the International Geographical Union, serves as the chief editor of the journal. Geography and Sustainability was officially published in march 2020. At present, 30 papers have been published on the journal, with an average publishing period of 2.3 months. The journal has been selected as a high-quality journal catalogue in the field of geographical resources in China on November 14, which focuses on the publication of original research results, reviews, critical articles, etc.


Journal of Geoheritage and Parks is a quarterly issue sponsored by Beijing Normal University and published by Beijing Normal University Press (Group) Co., Ltd. Founded in 2013, the journal is currently published in 167 countries and regions. It is co-editored by Associate Professor Wei Dongying of BNU and Professor Yves Girault of the National Museum of Natural History, France, and the editorial board is composed of 26 experts and scholars from 13 countries and regions.  The journal provides a diverse public platform for scholars engaged in geoheritage and park-related research and encourages diverse perspectives and understandings of geoheritage, national parks and protected areas.
