On 19th February, Times Higher Education (THE) announced Emerging Economies University Rankings 2020. The Chinese Mainland continues to lead ranking with 81 institutions, claiming 7 places in the top 10.

Beijing Normal University participated in the ranking for the first time, ranking 24th in the listing and 12th in Chinese Mainland.

TOP 15 Universities in Chinese Mainland

Overall, 533 universities from 47 countries or regions are included in the THE Emerging Economies University Rankings 2020, including only institutions in countries classified by the London Stock Exchange’s FTSE Group as ”advanced emerging”, “secondary emerging” or “frontier”.

The Emerging Economies University Rankings is based on the same 13 performance indicators used for the THE World University Rankings, but the weightings are different to reflect the development priorities of universities in emerging economies.
