The psychology faculty at Beijing Normal University will open a hotline starting 6 am on Monday to offer psychological counseling to people in need of emotional support amid the novel coronavirus outbreak, Beijing News reported on Sunday.

Set up by request from the university, the hotline (4001-888-976) will offer one-on-one service from 6 am to midnight every day, the report said, citing the hotline's administrator, China Mobile Group Beijing Co.

Each call, lasting about 30 minutes, will be received by an experienced psychological counselor with the university to help medical staff, patients, their family and the public to deal with psychological stress, the report said.
