The Belt and Road School Admission 2020

 

Introduction

 

The Belt and Road School (BRS) is located in BNU at Zhuhai in the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, which is one of the most economically vibrant regions in the world. To support the Belt and Road Initiative and the development of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, BRS is encouraging applications from excellent graduates in Economics, Management, Political Sciences, Law and in any of the other relevant fields to enroll, according to their qualifications, in either the Master of Business Administration (MBA) or the Master of Public Administration (MPA) programs offered in BNU’s Zhuhai Campus.

 

 

Rich Educational Experience

BRS focuses on training high-quality management talents. International students from 69 countries have graduated from BRS since the launch of the Belt and Road Initiative.

 

World-Class Faculty

The faculty of the Master’s programs consists of professors from top ranking universities, specialists and scholars, former politicians, leaders from the international financial community and managers from global companies. Our distinguished faculty members include: L. Enrique Garcia, former Executive President of CAF – Development Bank of Latin America; Djoomart Otorbaev, former Prime Minister of Kyrgyzstan; Rajat M. Nag, former Managing Director General of Asian Development Bank; Zlatko Lagumdzija, former Prime Minister of Bosnia and Herzegovina; Grzegorz W. Kolodko, former Deputy Prime Minister and Finance Minister of Poland, etc.

 

 

 

Programs

 

BRS offers a Master of Business Administration (MBA) program and a Master of Public Administration (MPA) program. The two programs will respectively admit 50 students each academic year. Both programs require a two-year full-time study and all classes will be taught in English.

 

The total tuition for each program is 60,000 RMB. BRS will offer full or partial scholarships based on the overall assessment of the applicants.

 

When a student has fulfilled all credit requirements and passed the thesis defense, BNU will grant her/him the appropriate degree of Master of Business Administration or Master of Public Administration.

 

MBA Program

The MBA program provides a high qualification in different management disciplines, building on solid analytical skills. Students will get familiar with international business strategy and have a strong sense of social responsibility. By acquiring an in-depth understanding of the mission, goal and opportunities of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, students will become a management elite capable of seizing new development opportunities.

 

MPA Program

The MPA program aims at developing decision makers who have not only mastered basic theories, methods and techniques of public administration and public policy, but also specialized in cross-cultural communication and cross-cultural management. Through an in-depth understanding about the historical background, mission and public policies of the Belt and Road Initiative and the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area, students will become professionals who can handle increasingly complex public affairs.

Core courses include, but are not limited to:

Introduction of the Belt and Road Initiative;

The Development and Management of the Guangdong-Hong Kong-Macau Greater Bay Area;

The Economy and Development of Emerging Market Countries;

China Social Economic Survey.

 

Scholarships

The MBA and MPA programs offer full and partial scholarships. A full scholarship will provide a tuition waiver for two academic years, a health insurance, and a stipend for housing and living. A partial scholarship will provide a tuition waiver for two academic years, a health insurance, and a partial stipend for living.

 

 

 

Admission Requirements


1. Applicants must be a citizen of a country other than the People’s Republic of China, comply with China’s laws and regulations, and the regulations of BNU;

2. Applicants must have a bachelor's degree or above. One year or longer of working experience is preferred;

3. Applicants should demonstrate an adequate level of proficiency in English;

4. Applicants should be in good health and not carrying diseases that might imply the denial of entry into China under Chinese laws and regulations (according to the formal classification of “Prohibited entry into China”).

 

 

Required Documents

1. Undergraduate transcript and bachelor's degree certificate;

2.  Two recommendation letters;

3. Personal statement and resume (CV) accompanied by a short video clip to introduce yourself;

4.  Health certificate;

5. Applicants who are native English speakers or have successfully completed full-time study at a recognized university (in which the sole language of instruction and assessment was English) are not required to provide internationally recognized English language proficiency test results. Other applicants who do not meet these conditions must submit TOEFL (higher than 85) or IELTS (higher than 6.0) results;

6. One copy of Standard Chinese Visa Photo and two copies of a valid ordinary passport.

 

 

Admission Process


Online application period: December 9, 2019 – April 15, 2020

Interview: May 2020

 

1. Online registration: Register an account and sign into http://apply.bnu.edu.cn/, and provide all the required information and submit the completed application form; A non-refundable application fee of 600RMB must be paid through the online payment system on the website;

2. Please email the application form with all required documents (including photos and videos) to brs0926@bnu.edu.cn;

3. Applicants who have successfully passed the evaluation process will be notified via email for online interview by mid-May, 2020;

4. Admission results will be sent to successful applicants from mid-June, 2020.
