2nd International Students' Ecology and Environment Forum was Held



On December 14th, 2019, the second International Students’ Ecology and Environment Forum was held ceremoniously in Jingshi Teaching Building of Beijing Normal University, with the theme “Ecological Civilization and Sustainable Development”. The forum was co-organized by School of Environment and Office of International Exchange and Cooperation of Beijing Normal University. Shen Zhenyao, Branch Party Committee secretary of School of Environment, Beijing normal university, Cui Baoshan, dean of School of Environment, xu linyu, deputy dean and Zheng Zhen, representative of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation, and other teachers attended the forum. The opening ceremony was hosted by Professor Xu Linyu, secretary general of the organizing committee.  Dean Cui Baoshan gave an opening speech. Zheng Zhen made a welcome speech. Two brilliant keynote speeches were delivered respectively by Professors Liang Sai and Gu Chuanhui from School of Environment.

 

 

 

The forum covered four parallel sessions, i.e. Multi-national Environmental Pollution Control, Sustainable Utilization of Resources, Strategies for Global Climate Change, Policy and Management of Ecology and Environment, as well as a poster exhibition staged in the main venue. Over one hundred foreign students from Beijing Normal University, Peking University, Tsinghua University, University of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Wuhan University, Northeast Normal University, China University of Geosciences, Hohai University, Huazhong Agricultural University, Northwest A&F University, Donghua University, Northwest A&F University, and Northwest University came to this forum to share their research achievements that involved environmental ecology fields in a number of countries including China, Pakistan, Kazakhstan, and Ethiopia.



The poster exhibition was hosted by international student Xavier Supe from School of Environment. The students contributing the posters introduced their researches to the audience in turn.

 

 

Through grading by the forum expert judges and voting by the participants, excellent oral presentations and poster presentations were selected. Professor Shen Zhenyao, Branch Party Committee secretary of Environment of School, presented the awards to the winning students and gave a closing speech. The forum was successfully concluded.

 

 

The second International Students’ Ecology and Environment Forum has been carried out on the basis of the first forum and gained broader influence. While helping international students to improve their academic knowledge, this event provides a great platform for academic exchanges among these students. We look forward to meeting more Chinese and international students in the next forum.
