On May 24, the international student team Robot Armor Steel from Beijing Normal University made a stunning appearance at the 2026 National University Robot Contest ROBOTAC Humanoid Kung Fu Combat Competition (Xiong'an Division - International Track) and the International Innovation Achievement Exhibition of University of Science and Technology Beijing. Armed with scientific and technological innovation and robotic hardware, the team competed and exchanged ideas on technological innovation with international students from multiple universities in Beijing.

During the competition, each side, red and blue, fielded one humanoid robot to engage in free combat within a designated arena. The winner was determined by the number of valid hits and knockdowns against the opponent. Team members skillfully maneuvered their robots in intense offensive and defensive battles, demonstrating solid technical expertise and excellent teamwork.

Concurrent with the contest, the International Innovation Achievement Exhibition of University of Science and Technology Beijing was in full swing. Centering on cutting-edge science and technology, the exhibition featured three major sections: the university’s flagship disciplines, faculty advisor teams for international students, past achievements of robot competitions, and interactive displays of high-tech robots. BNU participating international students visited the exhibition for on-site learning, getting up close to frontier scientific and technological achievements and experienced core technologies of intelligent robots as well as broadening their horizons and sparking creative ideas through exchanges.

This event was one of the special activities of the 4th Science, Talent and Innovation Week of Xiong'an New Area. It not only helped participants improve their engineering practical abilities and teamwork skills, but also injected fresh impetus into encouraging international youth to start businesses and pursue innovation in Xiong'an and boost the high-quality development of the region.
