The Spring Festival is the most important in China. CCTV Spring Festival Gala, which accompanies Chinese people to wait for the great day every year, has become an important festival element in China. BNUers took part in a creative dance performance in the 2024 CCTV Spring Festival Gala.

This program, directed by the renowned director Zhang Yimou, cleverly presents intangible cultural heritage through multimedia and real-time interactive technology. The show adopts many local dialects and combines traditional noodle and pastry making such as cutting noodles, pulling noodles, throwing pancakes, and dragon beard noodles with the body shape of the dancers. Therefore, it integrates technology and arts to bring out new artistic vitality in the new era of different regional cultures.

In the 2023 winter, the School of Art and Communication of BNU was recommended by Zhang Yimou to participate in the 2024 Spring Festival Gala. In the end, 20 students from the dance department participated in the celebration. They took care of both their studies and rehearsals, and successfully completed the rehearsals and live broadcast of the show.
