[Notice] The 4th JINGSHI Young Scholars’ Forum


  1. The Introduction to the Forum

The Young Scholars’ Forum of Beijing Normal University (JINGSHI Young Scholars’ Forum) is a key platform established around objectives of the “Double First-Class” initiative to bring together outstanding young academic scholars from home and abroad under the two campus-based operational architecture. Its aim is to encourage young scholars at home and abroad to discuss academic hotspots around cutting-edge academic research to broaden horizons, find academic inspirations, and exchange ideas with each other, as well as underpin BNU’s future development by recruiting outstanding young academic scholars.


 

  1. The Introduction to Beijing Normal University

Beijing Normal University is a key university under the Ministry of Education. It is a famous institution featuring teacher education, educational science, and basic branches of arts and sciences.

BNU is a key university of Project 985 and Project 211.

In 2017, BNU earned a spot in the Class A list of “world-class universities”.

In 2022, it is selected as one of the first batch of 20 institutions for independent degree authorization review in the second round of the “Double First-Class” initiative.

At present, BNU is striving to improve the disciplinary development system which focuses on key disciplines and the two campus-based operational architecture (Beijing campus and Zhuhai campus). It is gradually becoming a comprehensive, research-oriented, and world-class university for teacher education with Chinese characteristics.

Main Forum: December 12, 2022

    North America Session: GMT+8, 9 am December 12

    Europe Session: GMT+8, 4 pm December 12

Sub-forum: It will be held from December 12, 2022 to January 6, 2023 (GMT+8), and academic reports and seminars for exchange of ideas will be involved.

  1. Positions and Employee Benefits on Beijing Campus

(1) Positions

BNU Top Scholars: Top young scholars with decent academic background, important research achievements recognized by peers at home and abroad, a notable academic influence, and strong academic potentials.

BNU Outstanding Young Scholars: Outstanding young scholars with an innovative mind, remarkable research achievements, a notable academic influence, and great growth potentials.

Mainstays: Young doctoral graduates or post graduate fellows from well-known universities at home and abroad who have made outstanding research achievements and great growth potentials.

Liyun Postdoctoral Fellows: Outstanding doctoral graduates with good moral character and top-level research capabilities and who should be younger than 35 years old (in principle). For details, please refer to requirements in the Support Plan for Postdoctoral Scholars with an Innovative Mind, the Recruitment Project of the International Exchange Program, and the International Visit Project of the International Exchange Program presented by the National Administrative Committee of Post-Doctoral Researchers.

(1) Positions

Top scholars: Achieve distinctive achievements, have a notable academic influence, and win recognition from academic peers.

Outstanding young scholars: Young scholars with an innovative mind for research, team spirit, and great growth potentials; doctoral graduates or postdoctoral fellows from colleges and universities at home and abroad, or young scholars who have been engaged in research or teaching in higher institutions for more than two years and who achieve outstanding research achievements.

Mainstays: Teaching staffers or research fellows who have a doctor’s degree or work experience in universities and research institutions and who meet requirements proposed by Beijing Campus.

Post-doctoral Fellows on Zhuhai Campus: Postdoctoral fellows at home and abroad recruited by major degree programs (second-level disciplines) authorized to grant doctoral degrees relying on the (first-level discipline) post-doctoral center on Beijing Campus and sent to Zhuhai Campus for full-time research.
