“The idea of communality in the perspective of Chinese philosophy”

Time: Nov 29th - Dec 3rd, 2021
Venue: Live Webcast (Global) & On-site main venue in Beijing Normal University
Scholars in Beijing will be invited to teach on-site, and international students from universities inside Beijing will also be invited to participate on-site under the condition of complying with the pandemic prevention policy of Beijing.
*Due to real-time epidemic situation, it may be adjusted to activities all online.

Contents of Program
1. Program Background
Members of International Confucian Association from Beijing Normal University and other famous universities in China or abroad to form a professional team of teachers and tutors.
2. Program Content
Academic lecture: Lectures delivered by experts, including Scholar comments and Q&A sessions.
Academic dialogue: One scholar as the host, and a number of experts carry on a dialogue about the sub-theme of the program.
Group discussion: Participants will be divided into study groups according to the study theme, and the academic tutor will provide specific guidance for the participants.
Students debate: Participants will debate on two topics in groups on the last day of the course,and will be commented by experts at the end of the debate.
3. Feasibility of the Program
Members of International Confucian Association from Beijing Normal University and other famous universities in China or abroad to form a professional team of teachers and tutors.

4. Completion Conditions
1. Full attendance of all the courses and group discussions.
2. Submit a final essay by December 10th to fuhualai@bnu.edu.cn
(No less than 1500 words in English and 3000 words in Chinese)
Participants who satisfy the above conditions will receive a certificate of completion issued by the International Confucian Association.
Admissions Information
Recruitment target and Eligibility
Participants should be mainly overseas outstanding young scholars engaged in related research and young international students from relevant domestic universities, to apply the condition need to be non-Chinese citizens under the age of 40.
We also expect participants to have a strong academic interest in Chinese traditional culture and contemporary Chinese society, and have a certain understanding and grasp of Chinese philosophy, history, literature, etc.
We also look forward to the participants caring about public affairs and willing to contribute to the intercultural communication and cooperation between China and foreign countries. The expected number is about 80 people in total.
