“Experience China • Our Anti-Epidemic Story” essay competition

        新冠肺炎疫情发生以来, 广大中国政府奖学金生亲身经历了中国疫情防控，见证了中国政府和人民众志成城打好抗疫战争的全过程。5 月 17 日，习近平主席给北京科技大学全体巴基斯坦留学生的回信发布后，在师生中引起强烈反响。为积极贯彻落实习主席回信精神, 进一步做好常态化疫情防控下的留学生管理工作，讲好中国抗疫故事，向世界展示中国疫情防控的成果，国家留学基金管理委员会决定举办“感知中国·我们的抗疫故事”征文活动，希望广大中国政府奖学金生踊跃参与。

On May 17, President Xi Jinping’s letter to all Pakistani international students at the University of Science and Technology Beijing (USTB) caused a strong response from teachers and students. In order to actively implement the spirit of President Xi’s letter, further improve the management of international students under normal epidemic prevention and control, tell the story of China’s fight against the epidemic, and show the world the results of China’s epidemic prevention and control, the China Scholarship Council decided to launch “Experience China • Our Anti-Epidemic Story” essay competition. We hope that Chinese government scholarship students will actively participate.

Our Anti-Epidemic Story

疫情之下，留学生们以力所能及的方式支持和参与疫情防控工作，涌现出了许多的先进人物。请用文字记录下来，让更多的人知道。可以写自己的故事，也可以写身边其他奖学金生的故事。

During the epidemic, international students supported and participated in the prevention and control of the epidemic in their own way, and many advanced figures emerged. Please put your stories in words so as to let more people know. You can write your own story or stories of other scholarship students around you.

(2)疫情下的中国

China During the Epidemic

疫情期间，你可能滞留在中国，也可能回到了自己的祖国，不论在哪里，你都关心着中国的疫情，与中国的老师和同学保持着联系，你对中国有了什么新的认识和感受？

During the epidemic, you might have stayed in China, or returned to your home country. No matter where you were, you were concerned about the epidemic situation in China, hence, you kept in touch with Chinese teachers and classmates. During this period, what new understanding and feelings did you have for China?

Study Time During the Epidemic

因为疫情，我们居家不外出，经历了一段独处的时光，你是怎么度过的?疫情期间，停课不停学，你的母校和中国的老师给予了你怎样的帮助?你是怎么努力坚持学习的?有哪些收获?

Because of the epidemic, we stayed at home and spent most time alone. How did you spend your time? During the epidemic, classes were held online. What kind of help did BNU and Chinese teachers give you? How did you work hard to keep studying? What have you learned so far?

(4)对全球疫情的思考

Reflections on the Global Pandemic

疫情在全世界持续爆发，作为青年留学生，我们该为抗击疫情做些什么?中国在抗击疫情中有哪些好的经验值得推广?疫情下，如何能够让更多的人携起手来，为促进民心相通、推动构建人类命运共同体贡献力量?

The epidemic continues to erupt all over the world. As young students studying abroad, what should we do to fight the pandemic? What good experiences does China have in combating the epidemic that are worth spreading? During the epidemic, how can more people join hands to promote their contribution to the development of a community with shared future?

2体裁 | Genre

可采用散文、随笔、议论文、记叙文等多种形式，不接受诗歌。

Various forms such as prose, jottings, argumentative essay, narrative essay, etc. can be used. Poetry is not accepted.

3语言 | Language

中文、英文

Chinese, English.

4格式 | Format

标题：方正小标宋简体，小二号

Title font：Simsun, size 18

正文：仿宋，三号

Essay body：FangSong, size 16

5字数 | Word count

原则上不超过3000字。

In principle, no more than 3000 words.

6作者简介及照片 | Author’s introduction and photos

Please submit a personal electronic photo.

作品如有配图，应提供图片说明，图片请提交原图文件，要求jpg格式，画面清晰，每个文件大小不少于2M。

If there are pictures attached to the essay, please provide the picture description. Please submit the original picture file in JPG format. The picture should be clear and the size of each file should not be less than 2M.

四、投稿方式 Submission method

1.征文word电子文稿使用中文命名为：北京+学校名称+参赛者中文姓名+作品题目。

The Microsoft Word electronic version of the essay should be named in Chinese: Beijing + school name + contestant’s Chinese name + essay title.

2.将征文作品、征文活动信息表、征文活动作者简介和照片打包发送至邮箱：isp@bnu.edu.cn，邮件主题“感知中国·我们的抗疫故事征文投稿”

Package and send the essay, introduction of essay form, author’s profile form and photos to the email: isp@bnu.edu.cn. The email subject should be "Experience China • Our Anti-Epidemic Story Essay Submission”.

五、截止时间 Submission deadline

2020年6月11日。

六、稿件评审 Essay review

1.学校组织专业老师对参赛作品进行初审，并择优选取五篇提交至国家留学基金委。通过初审的五位参赛者将获得由国家留学基金委下发的纪念证书。

A group of Professional teachers organized by BNU will conduct a preliminary review of the essays received and select five essays to be submitted to the China Scholarship Council. The five contestants who pass the preliminary review will receive a commemorative certificate issued by the China Scholarship Council.

2.国家留学基金委将组织有关专家对提交的稿件进行点评，并将优秀作品编辑成集，《神州学人》刊物将择件刊发。

The China Scholarship Council will organize relevant experts to comment on the submitted essays, and compile excellent works into a collection, which will be published by the China Scholar Abroad (CHISA) journal.
