On Feb 4, a volunteer was posing with Bing Dwen Dwen, the mascot for the Beijing 2022 Winter Olympics, in the Winter Olympics Plaza before the opening ceremony.

On Feb 9 at the press conference, Lin Cunzhen, Director of the Culture and Ceremonies Department of the Beijing 2022 Olympic Organising Committee, said that the first wave of pre-sales of the special Chinese New Year’s edition of Bing Dwen Dwen would be launched at the Tmall Olympic flagship store that afternoon. The pre-sale would start every second hour until 9 pm.
