“TI Cup” First National University Students Innovative Applications of The Internet of Things Design Contest Announced at BNU
On February 27th, a news conference was held at BNU to announce the “TI Cup” First National University Students Innovative Applications of The Internet of Things Design Contest. Under the direction of the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology of the People’s Republic of China and the China Association for Science and Technology, the contest is sponsored by the Chinese Institute of Electronics in cooperation with the BNU School of Information Science and Technology and the special committee of The Internet of Things of the Chinese Institute of Electronics. The contest is supported by TI, IBM, ARM, and other internationally-known electronic information enterprises. Chinese Academy of Engineering academician Ni Guannan is Honorary Director of the Organizing Committee, and Chinese Academy of Engineering’s Yao Jianquan is Honorary Director of the Evaluating Committee. BNU vice-president Ge Jianping served as Director of Organization Committee. The Organization and Evaluating committee comprise officers and principals of Tianjin University, Jilin University, Beijing University of Posts and Telecommunications, and twenty other well-known universities.
The theme of this contest is “Innovation, The Internet of Things from the Future.” The competition is designed to answer the call of technological globalization and to improve students’ applications, innovation, and design in the area of The Internet of Things. The goal of the competition is to accelerate the growth of The Internet of Things education at universities and to promote the effective combination of training professionals, industrial development trends, and technology trends. To be conducted over a six-month period, the contest will demonstrate students’ innovation and potential. It is expected to become a communicative platform for national university The Internet of Things activities, related professional education, and elite training. BNU is a pioneer in the educational development of the study of The Internet of Things.
