On August 25, 2019, the first Youth Statisticians Forum was held in Beijing Normal University. The Youth Statisticians Forum is initiated and hosted by the editorial department of “Statistical Research”, the School of Statistics of Beijing Normal University, Guanghua Management School of Peking University, the Center for Economic and Social Data Research of Tsinghua University, the School of Statistics of Renmin University of China and the School of Statistics and Management of Shanghai University of Finance and Economics. More than 80 delegates from more than 20 universities and institutions, including Beijing Normal University and the National Bureau of Statistics, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, the China Development Research Foundation, Peking University, Tsinghua University, Renmin University of China, Xiamen University, Shandong University, Southwest University of Finance and Economics, Tianjin University of Finance and Economics, and Central South University of Finance and Economics, and Beijing University of Political Science and Law attended the meeting.
The forum was chaired by Professor Song Xuguang, Dean of Statistics College of Beijing Normal University, Professor Hao Fanghua, Vice-President of Beijing Normal University, and Zeng Yuping, President of the National Bureau of Statistics, respectively.
In her speech, Hao Fanghua reviewed the development of scientific research cooperation between Beijing Normal University and the National Bureau of Statistics for a long time. She congratulated the Forum on its successful convening and welcomed the participants. He hoped that young statisticians would speak freely and communicate deeply in this forum, thus nurturing more and better academic achievements.

Zeng Yuping pointed out in his speech that the first Youth Statisticians Forum held in Beijing Normal University provided a good platform for statistical academic exchange. He hoped that young statisticians would pay close attention to the important needs of national statistical development, focus on new opportunities, new tasks and new problems, and strive to promote the new development of statistical science research in China.
General Statistician Zeng Yuping delivered a welcome speech
Under the chairmanship of Lu Haiqi, Director of the Institute of Statistical Science of the National Statistical Bureau, the sponsors of the Forum signed the proposal. The proposal clarifies the topics, methods, processes, submissions and reviewing methods of the forum, and provides guidance and norms for the sustainable organization of the forum for young statisticians.

Professor Xu Xianchun of Tsinghua University and Professor Wang Hansheng of Peking University gave the conference reports respectively. Professor Xu Xianchun gave a conference report on the topic of "Model, Characteristics and Function of Platform Economy--Taking Putian as an Example". The report introduced the definition of Platform Economy and Putian Platform Economic Model, typical characteristics and functions in detail, summarized the problems encountered in the development of Platform Economy, and provided a reference for promoting the sustainable development of Platform Economy. Policy recommendations were made.
Professor Xu Xianchun's Report to the Conference
Professor Wang Hansheng presented a conference report entitled "Least Squares Approximation for a Distributed System". In this report, a general regression model parameter estimation and variable selection method were proposed for the massive data stored in the distributed system. The asymptotic nature of the estimation results and the application of this method to aviation data analysis were introduced.

After the report of the conference, the forum set up four sub-venues for communication. Delegates focused on "Development and Application of Economic and Social Microdata", "Research on Income Distribution and Poverty", "Research on the Theory and Application of Big Data", "Productivity Measurement and Application", "Statistical Research on High-quality Development", "Global Value Chain", "Asset-liability Compilation and Application", " Quantitative Research on New Economy and Digital Economy”, A total of eight hot statistical issues were reported. The commentators of each sub-venue also made brilliant comments. The sub-venue discussed warm and harmonious atmosphere, and jointly discussed the current statistical frontiers and hot issues.
The first Youth Statisticians Forum ended in a strong academic atmosphere.
