On May 17, 2019, Dr. Stephen Hanson, deputy dean of William and Mary University, was invited to give a lecture entitled Undergraduate Education and Internationalization by Beijing Normal University's "Global Development Hall" to introduce the successful experience of William and Mary University in undergraduate education and internationalization. The seminar was sponsored by the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, co-sponsored by the Ministry of Organizations, and incorporated into the cadre training program. The lecture was attended by cadres, teachers and students from more than 30 departments, departments and departments of the Ministry of Education, General Affairs, International Exchange and Cooperation. The lecture was chaired by Xiao Qian of the International Exchange and Cooperation Department.
Dr. Stephen Hanson introduced the undergraduate education and internationalization of William Mary University from the aspects of undergraduate individual counseling, scientific research, innovative courses, international students and teaching innovation studios. Other members of the delegation supplemented their academic background. Professors from the Law School of William Mary University introduced Socrates' question-and-answer method and moot court learning method in classroom teaching, and demonstrated Socrates' question-and-answer method on the spot.
During the question-asking session, the teachers of the two sides exchanged in-depth on such topics as further cooperation in specific subject areas, how to encourage students to study abroad, and how to guide students to participate in cooperative research and publishing papers in Humanities and social sciences.
