[Forum] Promoting Sustainable Development with Artificial Intelligence - CIT Professor Huang Ronghuai attended UNESCO Mobile Learning Week

    On March 4-6, 2019, Director of the National Engineering Laboratory of Internet Education Intelligent Technology and Applications, Co-President of the Institute of Wisdom Learning, Beijing Normal University, and Professor Huang Ronghuai, Director of the UNESCO International Rural Education Research and Training Center of Beijing Normal University was Invited to attend the UNESCO Mobile Learning Week and delivered a keynote speech.


 



    The theme of this mobile learning week is "Artificial Intelligence for Sustainable Development." 1,200 delegates from around the world focused on “guaranteeing the inclusive and equitable use of artificial intelligence in education”, “using artificial intelligence to strengthen education and learning”, “promoting the development of life and work skills in the era of artificial intelligence” and “Protect and transparent review of educational data". The four topics are discussed.



    During the learning week, UNESCO also held a global conference on artificial intelligence to explore artificial intelligence and related technologies, and conducted extensive exchanges on how to raise awareness, reflect on opportunities and challenges, enhance transparency, and improve accountability mechanisms.



    Professor Huang Ronghuai gave a speech entitled "Transforming Education through AI: Typical Scenarios and Suggestions" and attended the "Working towards 'AI in Education Policy Guidelines'" workshop as a guest. The issues of “artificial intelligence + education” policy formulation was discussed with the experts at the meeting.




 



    Professor Huang Ronghuai also met with Mr. Stefania Giannini, Assistant Director-General of UNESCO, and Mr. Borhene Chakroun, Director of the Policy and Lifelong Learning System, to discuss issues related to artificial intelligence and education, and to discuss possible future cooperation between the two parties.
