On December 13, 2018, the first International Student Environmental Ecology Forum was held in the Yingdong Academic Hall of Beijing Normal University. The conference was co-sponsored by the Environmental College and the International Exchange and Cooperation Office of Beijing Normal University, and co-sponsored by the State Key Laboratory of Water Environment Simulation. The opening ceremony was presided over by Professor Xu Linyu, Deputy Dean of the College of Environment. Professor Cui Baoshan, Dean of the College of Environment, attended the forum and delivered an opening speech. Zheng Zhen, representative of the International Exchange and Cooperation Office, addressed the General Assembly. Professor Li Yongping of the Environmental College and Professor Carlo Gualtieri from Italy gave two excellent keynote presentations.

Professor Xu Linyu, Secretary-General of the Organizing Committee, Deputy Dean of the Environmental College, presided over the opening ceremony.
The Forum includes four themes: sustainable use of resources, environmental pollution control in various countries, global climate change countermeasures, environmental and ecological policies and management. Poster display was also in the main venue. More than 100 international students from Beijing Normal University, Tianjin University, Nankai University, Chinese Academy of Sciences University, Northeast Normal University, Dalian University of Technology, China University of Geosciences, Hehai University, East China Normal University, Donghua University and other universities came to share their research results, involving China, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Ghana, Kazakhstan, Tanzania, Ethiopia, and other countries’ environmental and ecological fields.
The poster exhibition is presided over by foreign students, who provide posters to explain their research content to the audience one by one. After scoring by the panel of experts and voting by all participants, excellent oral reports and posters were selected. Su Liya, a teacher of the Environmental College, presided over the award ceremony and the closing ceremony. Professor Xu Linyu, Secretary-General of the Forum Organizing Committee, presented the awards to the students.
The first International Student Environmental Ecology Forum not only promoted the academic level of international students, but also provided a good platform for academic exchanges among international students.
