​[Seminar] Summary of Comprehensive Remote Sensing Experiment on Carbon Cycle, Water Cycle and Energy Balance convened by Beijing Normal University

The National Key Laboratory of Remote Sensing Sciences joint with domestic advantage units organized the Comprehensive Remote Sensing Experiment on Carbon Cycle, Water Cycle and Energy Balance in this year. Focusing on the important scientific issues of earth system science, the experiment took Lightning River Basin and Xiaoluanhe River Basin in Beijing-Tianjin-Hebei Eco-hydrological Conservation Area as the core experimental areas, carried out integrated remote sensing observation of sky and ground, and collected comprehensive remote sensing data of "star-machine-ground" in full band and active-passive combination. This comprehensive experiment has 19 single-site data successively. Nearly 200 people participated. On December 7, 2018, a comprehensive experiment summary meeting was held in Beijing Normal Building to summarize the results of the comprehensive experiment comprehensively and promote academic exchange and data sharing. More than 80 people from 16 scientific research institutes, including Remote Sensing Earth Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, Beijing Normal University, Chinese Academy of Forestry Sciences, Nanjing University, 804 Aerospace Academy, Geography Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences and Changchun Geography Institute of Chinese Academy of Sciences, etc. attended the meeting.

 

Professor Yan Guangjian, Deputy Director of Key Laboratory, gave a general introduction to the comprehensive remote sensing experiment. Professor Shi Jiancheng and Professor Mu Xihan made an introduction to the comprehensive experiment of Lightning River Basin and Xiaoluan River Basin. Subsequently, each unit introduced and exchanged the specific situation of the experiment and the preliminary data processing results.

 

Shi Jiancheng pointed out that this comprehensive test closely focuses on the scientific problems that need to be solved in our research on "carbon cycle, water cycle and energy balance", drives the acquisition of test parameters with scientific problems, promotes the development of related work, realizes scientific data sharing, and scientific research cooperation. A win-win situation. Participants discussed the problems in scientific data processing, data sharing methods, etc., and discussed the next step work and the 2019 comprehensive test plan, and reached consensus.
