On August 27th, the Roundtable Forum on "Healthy China, Education First" Public Health and Education Policy, organized by the China Education and Social Development Institute, was held in Beijing. The former Dean of Chinese Academy of Preventive Medicine, Wang Kean, the Education Ministry, PE Health Art Department Inspector Liao Wenke, deputy director of the General Office of the State Health Commission, Tan Xiangdong, deputy director of the Department of Policy, Regulation and Supervision of the International Chinese Medicine Administration, Yang Rongchen, BNU VP Chen Li, and the school’s and outside experts and leaders nearly 30 people attended the forum. Prof. Gu Mingyuan, a senior professor of our school, and Mr. Wang Yongyan, the double honorary academician of the two Institutions, respectively, sent a letter to the forum.
Chen Li said that China Institute of Education and Social Development as a national think tank (nurturing) integrates internal and external experts team resources and conducts in-depth study on "healthy China, education first" policy system, reflects the thinking tank wisdom, cohesion, and serving the basic responsibilities of national strategy. Chen Li stressed that we should put education as a leader and the starting point to other health-related disciplines as the support, let health education be implemented in the national education system; to increase the absorption of natural science results, pay attention to information technology, cross-disciplinary technology application, integrate "healthy China" strategy into all education policy.
Participants from the perspective of education, medicine, food, environment, sports, psychology, to interpret "healthy China" strategy. How to integrate health strategy into education policy and practice were discussed and advised. China Education and Development Research Institute will take this roundtable forum as an opportunity to continue to integrate health education resources in various fields, explore and refine the policy design of "healthy China, education first", propose forward-looking and innovative suggestions to help "health China "strategy implementation.
