On June 8, 2011, a ceremony was held to recognize the program, “Promote the career development of state-funded normal school students and enhance the growth of future educators” (i.e., Journal donation ceremony). The program is sponsored by the School of Continuing Education and Teacher Training and the Teaching Affairs Office. Tian Hui, University Council Vice Secretary addressed the gathering. Representatives of twenty-one donating companies (including Tongfang Education Science and Technology Co., Ltd. and Dragon Source Digital Media Group) and over three hundred representatives of related departments and interested students participated.

Vice secretary Tian discussed the background, mission, and content of the program and expressed his gratitude for the support of the donors. He said he hopes that the state-funded normal school graduates will establish firm professional ideals and promote a sense of honor, responsibility, and mission and that they will put the school motto into practice by educating and influencing their students as mentors and as personal examples, as well as instructors. He said he hopes they strive to improve their skills and to realize a level of professional development as soon as possible, so as to soon become excellent teachers through practice and research.

In July of this year, the first group of state-funded normal school students will graduate and become teachers. To better track their progress after graduation, the school has initiated the program,“Promote the career development of state-funded normal school students and enhance the growth of future educators.” Generally, the program includes: 1) providing new teachers with teaching and related journals as well as educational research materials; 2) providing a communication system so that graduates can communicate with the normal school: News of State-funded Normal School Students is set up to inform readers of outstanding normal school students and to provide a platform for graduated students to communicate with the school; 3) creating a website for state-funded normal school students as an important means of communication between students and to carry out publicly the professional cultivation program of the school; and 4) employing the first group of state-funded normal school graduates as career planning consultants for students on campus, so as to fully capitalize on the experiences of graduates in terms of job hunting and professional entry into society . The purpose of the program is to establish a platform for state-funded normal school students to access resources and grow as professionals. It also provides teaching and research resources for those just entering the job market and is designed to help them grow through the acquisition of advanced educational ideology, information, and professional skills. From this they can make better plans for their teaching careers.
