A Delegation Led by the Vice President of Monash University in Australia Visited Beijing Normal University

On June 30th, a delegation led by Sunny Yang, the vice president of Monash University in Australia, visited Beijing Normal University(BNU). Kang Zhen, Vice President of BNU met with guests.

Kang Zhen warmly welcomed Yang Shuang and her delegation. He reviewed the friendly exchanges with the Chancellor of Monash University during the 2024 China-Australia University Presidents Forum and introduced BNU's educational layout and the construction plan of key disciplines. He stated that the current development of artificial intelligence is characterized by both opportunities and challenges. He hopes that both sides will leverage their respective strengths to deepen cooperation and exploration in multiple fields such as the application of artificial intelligence and news dissemination, security governance, and the inheritance of excellent traditional Chinese culture. They should also jointly promote the cultivation of innovative talents and contribute the wisdom of both schools in running the school.


Yang Shuang introduced the latest achievements of Monash University's discipline construction and the layout and development of its overseas campuses. She highly praised the educational characteristics and achievements of BNU, and looked forward to practical collaboration with the university to promote the implementation of joint talent cultivation projects in mathematics, chemistry, psychology and other disciplines, and jointly carry out multi-level and cross-disciplinary joint research.



Janet Zhang, Director of Monash University's China Cooperation Affairs, and Gary Li, President of the Australian Association of International Education Consultants, accompanied the visit. The relevant person in charge of the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation of BNU attended the meeting and discussion.
