On June 29th, Andrei Karol, the rector of Belarusian State University, visited Beijing Normal University(BNU). President Yu Jihong of BNU met with guests.

Yu Jihong welcomed Karol and the delegation. She introduced the development history and educational characteristics of BNU, and reviewed the achievements of the university's exchanges and cooperation with Belarusian universities in recent years. She expressed the hope that the two universities would take this visit as an opportunity to deepen their consensus, expand practical cooperation in areas such as cultural exchanges and interdisciplinary construction, and jointly create a model of higher education cooperation between China and Belarus.

Karol thanked BNU for its warm reception. He introduced the historical evolution and disciplinary layout of Belarusian State University, pointing out that the educational philosophies of the two universities are highly consistent and there is broad space for cooperation. He looks forward to establishing multi-field cooperation with Beijing Normal University and promoting the in-depth and solid development of friendly relations between the universities.

At the meeting, the two schools signed a memorandum of cooperation at the school level. The relevant responsible persons from the Faculty of Education, the School of Foreign Languages and Literature, the School of Mathematical Sciences, the School of Physics and Astronomy, and the Office of International Exchange and Cooperation attended the meeting and initially exchanged views on the matters of exchanges and cooperation between the two sides respectively.
