On May 31st, 2018, the “Huairou Science City Strategic Research Conference on Major Science and Technology Infrastructure” co-sponsored by the China Academy for Strategic Science Innovation and the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission was held in Beijing. Eight academicians of the two institutes and more than 30 experts from the Science and Technology Department of the Ministry of Education, the Beijing Municipal Development and Reform Commission, the China Academy of Strategic Science Innovation, the Chinese Academy of Sciences, and Beijing Normal University attended the meeting.
The core topics of this conference are the synergistic effects of the development of major science and technology infrastructure and the orientation of leading disciplines, and the forward-looking layout of major science and technology infrastructure in Huairou Science City. The deputy director of the Polar and Marine Research Center of the university and Associate Professor Fengming Hui of the BNU-1 small satellite master teacher reported on the progress of the advancement of the “Tripolar Science Experimental Satellite” major scientific apparatus at the conference. This large scientific installation aims to promote the construction of an autonomous polar satellite observing system in China and has been included in the 14th Five-Year Scientific Device Cultivation Program by the Department of Science and Technology of the Ministry of Education.
Huairou Science City is facing the world's scientific and technological frontiers and major national needs. It is backed by a world-class major scientific and technological infrastructure cluster and aims to lead the world's first-class level and build a “100-year science city”. Focus on areas such as matter, space, earth, life, environment, information and intelligence. The Chinese Academy of Sciences has begun to deploy the Remote Sensing Big Data Center project in Science City, as an opportunity to promote the establishment of a total control data center for the three-pole satellite system in the Huairou Science City, which can effectively integrate national strengths and provide strong support for China’s construction of a powerful nation of science and technology in the world.
