[Achievement] BNU Professor Published Monograph to Discuss the Worldwide Present Situation and Development of Grassland Animal Husbandry

By professor Dong Shikui from the school of environment of BNU served as the first editor, Cornell University professor Karim-Aly Kassam, French Academy of Agricutural Sciences research professor Jean Francois Tourrand, and Colorado State University professor Randall Boone, co-edited book “Building Resilience of Human-Natural Systems of Pastoralism in the Developing World: Interdisciplinary Perspectives”
 
The book writing process lasted for four years. It researched and analyzed more than 20 typical cases in the continents of the world grassland areas, discussed the current status, threats, problems, challenges and the sustainable development path of grassland animal husbandry. In China, the founder of pratacultural science, academician of Chinese Engineering Institution, Lanzhou University College of pastoral agriculture science and technology, professor Ren Jizhou prefaced this book. International renowned scholar at Cornell University department of natural resources, professor Dr. James Lassoie, State University of Colorado ecological science and sustainable development department senior professor Dr. Ojima Dennis, Chinese Academy of Sciences Chengdu Institutes of Biology, research professor and Dean Zhao Xinquan, etc. those who are famous in the fields of ecological environment protection, sustainable development and grassland animal husbandry wrote reviews for the book. They think this book is the first book that is the comprehensive and systematic study of grassland animal husbandry in the coupling system of Human-natural ecosystems recoverable force. It is extremely characteristic in ideological, intellectual, innovative, readable and interesting.
