President’s Assistant Tu Qingyun

Tu Qingyun was born in June 1963 in Xiangyang, Hubei Province. He is a CPC member and Professor and Doctoral Supervisor, and he serves as BNU’s President’s Assistant and Vice President and Vice Chairperson of the University Council of BNU Zhuhai. Dr. Tu is in charge of the operation of the Zhuhai education park.

From 1981 to 1988 Dr. Tu was enrolled in the BNU Department of Physics where he was awarded both a Bachelor’s and a Master’s degree. After graduation, he began his teaching career at BNU. In 2002, Dr. Tu was awarded his Ph.D. in Science, having been jointly trained by the BNU Department of Physics and the Institute of Physics, Chinese Academy of Sciences.
 
Dr. Tu is a former Assistant Director of the Department of Physics, Deputy Director of the Office of Science & Technology, Deputy Director of the Department of Physics, Deputy Director of the Teaching Affairs Office, Director of the Admissions Office and Director of the Teaching Affairs Office.
 
With expertise in the field of experimental condensed matter physics, Dr. Tu has published in academic journals more than sixty research papers, among which more than thirty were released by SCI. He is also the author of nearly thirty Chinese academic papers and five Chinese education research papers. In addition, he has been in charge of or involved in more than ten research projects. His main concurrent academic posts include Executive Director of the Science Education Committee of the China Association of Higher Education (CAHE), Editorial Board Member for the journal Higher Education of Sciences, expert reviewer for the journal, China University Teaching, a member of the Professional Advisory Board for Educational System Reform in Gansu Province and an Expert in university undergraduate teaching assessment, among other roles. In 2012 he won first prize for Beijing Higher Education Achievement and in 2008 was honored as Excellent Education Administrator of General Institutes of Higher Education.
